What is an accelerator?

A business accelerator is another means of supporting a startup by providing outside resources and attention. An accelerator's goal is to arrange various interactions between stakeholders within a program efficiently. An accelerator is known for having the following characteristics: A program consisting of a fixed timeline, aiding multiple startups and entrepreneurs, access to a group of mentors and advisors with backgrounds in the entrepreneurial space, an education program with said mentors, and a selection process within the accelerator itself to ensure that they are aiding startups with the most potential.
